There was barely any flavour at all. My husband likes them, but they are a bit bland for my liking.

If I'd tried to name the flavour without knowing what it was from the box, I honestly wouldn't have been able to tell you. If you're after a very subtle flavour then you might find them OK, just like my hubby, but if you are expecting a citrus zing like I was just going by the smell, you will be sorely disappointed. Sorry.

Quorn Totally Vegan Battered Fishless Fillets x2 200g

We've just had these for the first time and they were OK. Could have done with being at least double the size all round (says my meat-eating hubby) and I agree the thickness could be at least double the size so that's why I've knocked off the first star and the taste was very artificial until just before swallowing and that, apparently tastes like Haddock (which I've never eaten so obviously don't know what it tastes like) which tasted good but could have done with that flavour right from the first chew instead of only in the last one, that's why I'm knocking off the second star.

It'll still be a semi-regular buy for us though and I'm glad we took the chance on it... just needs a bit of tweaking in our opinion though.

Linda McCartney Deep Dish Country Pie x2 380g

I've been vegetarian for 30 years and after all that time, the only meat that I missed was bacon. I saw these and fancied trying them, after all, soya doesn't taste like meat usually.

I was wrong.

These tasted so liked minced beef that they are almost inedible if you don't like the taste of meat.

My hubby loves meat and he said "it tastes just like a minced beef and onion pie" and he savoured every mouthful.

I really didn't enjoy mine though and if they weren't so expensive then I wouldn't have had a second forkful.

If you enjoy the taste of beef but you're vegetarian looking for a real beef flavour then you might give them a higher star rating, but for me they were gross and I won't be getting them again.

Sainsbury's Indian Lentil Quarter Pounder 454g

Just tried these for the first time for me lunch and they were lovely! A bit dry but very filling and tasted yummy. I was slightly dreading them being spicy after how the hubby described them, but they weren't spicy at all thankfully. They are good both in a bun with a slice of "plastic" cheese (that's what the hubby calls cheese slices for some reason) and a squirt of tomato sauce as well as on their own with a big helping of veggies.

If they weren't as dry as they are then I'd have given them 5 stars, but they are very dry so could do with making them a bit more succulent/juicy on the outside to make them perfect. Maybe that's just me, but I prefer my burgers to have a bit of moisture so that they aren't so saliva-drying as these were.

We'll get them again, for sure, but I'd prefer them to have a bit more moisture in them... just a smidgen of vegetable oil stirred into the pre-formed mixture is all it needs, IMHO.

Bahlsen PiCK UP! Milk Chocolate Biscuit Bars 5x28g

We decided to try these for the first time with this week's shop and we've just tried them.

I found them very dry and the hubby describes them as claggy. They are good, but you'll need a drink close by when you decide to eat them.

They would be good for elevenses or a mid-afternoon treat, but you'll definitely need a drink close to hand.

I'm not sure if I'd recommend them or not tbh. If you're prepared for them to be very dry and crunchy or you've got a cuppa to dunk them in (be prepared for the biscuit to break though!) then give them a go, but they won't be a regular buy for us unfortunately.

Sainsbury's Sweet & Sour Sauce, Basics 500g

We've just had this, for the first time, for our lunch. Other than the single chunk of pineapple, there was no other flavour at all.

It's very liquidy even mashed in with the rice and very little colour to it either.

We certainly won't be getting it again. If you're on a very tight budget and you're fed up with just plain rice then maybe try it, just don't expect it to have any flavour, texture, smell or colour to it. It's worth finding a few pence extra and getting something with better quality and flavour to it.

Sorry to not be able to find a single thing right with this product but it was a huge disappointment for us.

Sainsbury's Vegan Butternut Squash & Lentil Lasagne 400g
out of 5

Just tried this and it was a huge disappointment. There were 2 single, very thin and very small "slices" of butternut squash and maybe 10 lentils. It tasted very bland and there was waaaaay too much liquid... should be eaten with a spoon rather than a fork! Very expensive for very little taste let alone veg! Would have been better value at half the price for what it actually comes out as. Doubt we'll be getting it again unfortunately.

Sainsbury's Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne 400g

Just had this for the first time and I love it! Lovely and moist and filled with veggies as well as being 2 of my 5 portions of fruit and veggies in one meal, which is even better.

I was nervous of trying it because an allergen was one of the first ingredients, but other lasagnes are fine and rarely affect me so I was keeping my fingers crossed for this too. I'm sooo glad I did because the allergen hasn't affected me yet so either it was cooked out of it or there wasn't enough in there in the first place to affect me.

The hubby said that maybe it could have been slightly bigger, but for a quick lunch it is the perfect size. Maybe a couple of bits of garlic bread to go with it if your stomach thinks you're throat's been cut, but for a delicious lunch, for me, this is perfect just as it is.

On top of that, 3 of the 5 ingredients in the fortified wheat flour are what I'm short of and take supplements for, which is even better!

I'll definitely be getting it again!

Naughty Vegan 4 Pig Out rolls

I've got a meat-loving husband but I'm semi-vegan for medical reasons so every meal involves meat replacements and no dairy because I can't have it and the hubby doesn't want to cook two things for each meal. I saw these on the Morrison's site and decided to give them a try along with the McCain fries. Wasn't expecting much flavour because it was vegan-friendly, but I was wrong.

So, so wrong.

They are absolutely gorgeous! We'll definitely be getting them again 'cos even my meat-loving hubby enjoyed them from the very first cautious mouthful!

I dunno if they are only available at Morrison's but we'll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for them again now that we know how scrummy they are!

A definite firm favourite and a regular buy for us now!

Dole Peaches & Cre*m

First thought was that it needs to be bigger.

Second thought was that it's very sticky and almost jelly-like.

Third thought was that it smelt divine.

Fourth thought was "will the cream mess me up?"

I cautiously took my first tiny mouthful and it was absolutely incredible. The freshness of the peaches was still very much there, they were soft, sticky and very moreish.

I cautiously took a sniff of the cre*m to see how my body would react - that's always the first test, to see if it's worth the risk.

I risked putting the tiniest bit right on the edge of my tongue... I'd know within seconds if I could keep eating it.

No reaction, so I risked licking the spoon.

So far so good.

Would I be able to get through an entire tub without an allergic reaction?

No, I got through two tubs and the only reaction was huuuge burps which could have been due to me not having had cream for over 2 decades.

I polished off the first tub and reached for a second before I could stop myself.

That went down in record time too and still no allergic reaction!

Have I found a me-friendly fruit-pot at long last??

I've put the other 2 pots in the fridge to see what they're like chilled, but I've potentially found a me-friendly, healthy fruit pot that I can chow down on when I need a sweet snack or reward!
