Alpro Soya Chocolate Shake 3x250ml
out of 5 stars

They taste wonderful but are a lot smaller than I was thinking. Ideal for kids' lunch boxes but I had to drink all 3, one after the other to get an adults portion.

I personally reckon that either Sainsbury's should reduce the price or Alpro should increase the volume. That's the reason I'm knocking a star off.

I'll get them again, just not as regularly as I was hoping when I added them to my online basket.

Dapple fizzy juice drink
out of 5 stars

The package with these cans in have just arrived and we've (me and hubby) just had our first taste. OMG they are absolutely gorgeous! To quote the hubby "a slightly sparkling version of that Copella one... where do you get them from?". I'm gonna put them in the fridge now to see what they're like when they're chilled. To quote the hubby again "middle of a hot Summer, a glass of that would go down as a refreshing treat!" I couldn't agree more!

I've had two drinks of this - one with tap water and one with tonic water in the hope that it would improve the flavour.

It didn't.

It tastes like fizzy water gone flat... very metallic and totally gross.

If this is what gin tastes like then I'll finish the bottle off and never buy gin, whether the alcohol version or not, ever again.

If you enjoy fizzy water then you might enjoy this, but it just tastes too strongly of metal to me.

Avoid.

Seriously.

Sainsbury's Diet Indian Tonic Water 1L

Hmm. Not too sure about this tonic water.

The strong citrussy flavour is way too overpowering.

If you enjoy strong citrus flavours then you might enjoy this, it was just waaaaay too intensely overwhelming for me unfortunately.

Barleycup instant cereal drink

out of 5 stars

Just FYI I'm a new tea and coffee drinker (as in I didn't start drinking it until the end of Spring 2019), I'm allergic to dairy (so have tea and coffee black) and discovered that I prefer to actually taste what I'm drinking otherwise it just tastes like hot water which is gross.

Now that you know my taste preferences, here's my thoughts on my very first mug of an instant cereal drink. My hubby put 4 teaspoons of it into my large mug (as in 500ml as opposed to an average-sized mug of about 350ml) and filled the mug with hot water. I cautiously took my first sip of it and almost burnt my mouth lol It certainly didn't taste of coffee - there was maybe a tiny hint of coffee flavour but that quickly disappeared and was replaced with a flavour I've never had before that I'm guessing was the barley. Then there was an aftertaste of what I can only assume was the chicory. Took a bit of getting used to, but by about half way down the mug I was getting used to the new flavours and really starting to enjoy it.

So why am I knocking a star off?

Purely because every mouthful goes through me faster than caffeinated coffee does, despite this being decaffeinated. I've been for 5 wee's while I've been drinking it and even coffee only produces a single one lol

It's a nice strong flavour which I enjoyed after my tastebuds got used to the new experience and I *will* be getting it again, but I'm thinking I'll add a small squirt of runny honey to it next time, just until my tastebuds get used to it... I started off with 2 or 3 sweeteners in every mug of tea and coffee when I first started drinking it earlier in the year, but not any more... it's just strong and black now, so I'm thinking it'll be the same with this drink too.

I'm thinking of trying the dandelion one next just to see what that's like.

I'd say definitely try it, but make sure you have easy access to a toilet while you are drinking it, just in case it affects you like it did with me lol

Review of "(24 Pack) J20 Apple & Mango 275ml"

out of 5

J2O's have always been a huge treat/reward/motivation for me and the apple and mango ones have always been my favourite, so when I spotted this 24 pack I snapped it up straight away, with the intention of seeing me through a couple of writing challenges. It was fantastic for that and there are still enough left to inspire/reward me for a third one too.

The box is incredibly heavy, so make sure there is someone strong enough to haul it from the delivery place (in my case, our front door) to where you're going to store all the bottles. I was nowhere near strong enough to even lift it over our door stop and there was no way I could have taken it through to our kitchen! Thankfully my hubby pushed and pulled it through to the kitchen and we both heaved it up onto the side where it's been ever since... we were both sweating buckets and completely out of breath and didn't move far from the living room for the rest of the day lol

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that this is an amazing multi-pack of drinks, but you will seriously need help to move it unless you're used to lifting 10-20kg (yep, totally serious) and moving it as far as it needs to go, you definitely won't be able to move it alone.

At the time of writing this review, Amazon has got a message saying that "this item is frequently out of stock" so I'd suggest grabbing the opportunity to snap it up when it's in stock... I won't need to get any this year 'cos I've still got last years available for the writing challenge, but I'll need to snap it up again as soon as the challenge has finished so that I can be ready for the first challenge of 2023 lol

A definite must-buy from now on.

Koko Dairy Free Original Calcium, 1L (Long Life)

out of 5

I got this as an emergency when I ran out of soya milk and nobody could get me any more for a while because of the run-up to Christmas and all the shops and supermarkets were run off their feet so, understandably, nobody fancied venturing out just for a bottle of soya milk for me, so I got this as an emergency measure instead.

My usual dairy-free choice is soya and my tastebuds are used to that flavour, so I thought I'd try something different to wake them up a bit.

They didn't like it as much as soya milk, possibly because the flavour is so radically different or because it's so much more watery... definitely not suitable for cereal and it overpowers the flavour of hot drinks too, so I could only have it as a drink on its own, unfortunately, which didn't agree with my stomach.

AFAIK there's nothing wrong wih it for bodies that are used to coconut milk, but my body didn't like it and reacted badly to it, so I'll be sticking to soya milk from now on.
